The Santa Fe and Carson National Forests are looking for career-focused women who want to protect and preserve America’s public lands by training to become on-call wildland firefighters for the 2020 fire season. These on-call positions will provide support to wildland fire operations during fire season and may lead to future employment with the Forest Service.

The Women in Wildland Fire Boot Camp will be held Sept. 14-15 and Sept. 21-22 at the Santa Fe National Forest Headquarters at 11 Forest Lane in Santa Fe, NM. Successful applicants will need tocomplete pre-work before the boot camp, and attendance both weekends is required. The deadline for applications is Aug. 17 at 4:30 p.m., and successful applicants will be notified by Aug. 23.
